Nu Metro Cinemas operates cinemas at 22 locations in South Africa. It is the second-largest cinema operator in South Africa, (Ster-Kinekor Theatres being the largest).
On 1 December 2009, Nu Metro Cinemas opened Africa's first all-digital cinema complex at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa. The 6-screen multiplex includes one of Africa's largest cinemas - the Pantheon, featuring 517 seats - as well as dedicated 3D cinemas.
